AI Gateway Use Case Guide
Prompts to get you started with Intentwise AI Gateway
A working library of prompts that customers run most often through AI Gateway. Each entry includes the prompt to copy, what to expect back, and the follow-ups that get you to action.
Keep it simple. AI Gateway has your data and a semantic layer that knows what ACOS, NTB, RoAS, and weeks of cover mean, you don't need to spell out thresholds, lookback windows, or sort orders.
How to read each entry - Prompt — copy this into Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot once Intentwise is connected. - What you'll get back — the shape of the answer. - Follow-ups — natural next questions that go deeper.
If you haven't connected your assistant yet, start with Getting Started With Intentwise AI Gateway.
Save money
Find waste fast and act on it before the next budget cycle.
Inventory-aware ad pausing
Goal: Stop spending on products that are about to stock out.
"Which products are about to stock out but still running ads?"
What you'll get back: A table you can act on — ASIN, days of cover, weekly spend, and the campaigns driving the spend.
Follow-ups: - "Which campaigns and keywords should I pause first?" - "Just FBA inventory, please."
Wasted-spend hunter
Goal: Find keywords burning budget with nothing to show for it.
"Which keywords are burning money with no sales?"
What you'll get back: A ranked list with spend, clicks, ACOS, and the campaign each lives in.
Follow-ups: - "Just exact-match — I want to pause those first." - "For the broad-match ones, what search terms did they actually trigger?"
Negative keyword recommender
Goal: Convert high-spend, low-converting search terms into negatives.
"What search terms should I add as negatives?"
What you'll get back: Candidate negatives grouped by campaign, with the metrics that justify each.
Follow-ups: - "Add these as exact negatives." (if write tools are enabled) - "Are any of these already negatives at the ad group level?"
Budget overspend check
Goal: Catch campaigns that consistently blow past daily budget.
"Which campaigns keep hitting their budget cap?"
What you'll get back: Capacity-constrained campaigns where raising budget or tightening targeting may help.
Grow smarter
Where to put the next dollar.
Scale winning keywords
Goal: Find keywords with strong ROAS and room to spend more.
"Which keywords have room to scale?"
What you'll get back: Keywords with high ROAS but low impression share, ranked by headroom.
Follow-ups: - "Recommend bids that get impression share up without breaking a 4x ROAS floor."
DSP new-to-brand audit
Goal: Understand which audiences are actually bringing new customers.
"Which DSP audiences are bringing in new customers?"
What you'll get back: A breakdown of audiences by NTB%, NTB ROAS, and NTB revenue.
Follow-ups: - "Which audiences look more like remarketing than prospecting?"
Vendor PO health check
Goal: Catch demand vs. supply gaps before they hit revenue.
"Where am I missing forecast on vendor POs?"
What you'll get back: ASIN-level PO performance vs. forecast and the magnitude of the gaps.
Multi-account and agency views
If you manage multiple Intentwise accounts (agencies, holdcos, or in-house teams running multiple brands), AI Gateway answers cross-account questions in a single prompt.
Cross-portfolio spend movers
Goal: Find which client accounts had the biggest swings.
"Which of my clients had the biggest spend changes this month?"
What you'll get back: A ranked list of accounts with absolute and percent change.
Follow-ups: - "For the top 3, what drove the change?"
Portfolio inventory risk
Goal: Triage clients heading into peak.
"Which of my clients have inventory risk heading into peak?"
What you'll get back: At-risk accounts with the share of exposed ASINs and total ad spend behind them.
Account benchmarking
Goal: Compare a client to its peers.
"How does [client name] compare to my other clients in the same category?"
What you'll get back: A side-by-side table against the peer median across the metrics that matter.
Build artifacts
Move from analysis to deliverable in one prompt.
Custom dashboard
Goal: Stand up a shareable dashboard without opening a BI tool.
"Build me a shareable dashboard with my key metrics for the last 12 weeks."
What you'll get back: A live link to a dashboard you can share with stakeholders.
Note: Dashboard generation requires an assistant with web-rendering capability (e.g., Claude with Artifacts, or a Copilot agent with a generation tool). See Getting Started With Intentwise AI Gateway for what's supported per client.
Performance deck
Goal: A QBR or weekly review deck ready to edit.
"Build a performance deck for [account name] for last month."
What you'll get back: A draft deck — title, charts, and commentary — ready to refine.
Stakeholder summary email
Goal: Turn an ad-hoc analysis into a one-screen update.
"Write an email to my CFO summarizing this month's ad performance."
What you'll get back: A polished email draft you can edit and send.
Tips that make prompts work better
- Start simple. Trust the assistant to pick reasonable defaults — lookback window, sort order, thresholds. Add specifics only when the default isn't what you meant.
- Add a window only when "this month" isn't what you mean. "Yesterday", "last 7 days", "Q4" — drop them in when you need them.
- Name the marketplace if you run more than one. "US Sponsored Products" beats "my Sponsored Products."
- Tell it how you want the answer. "…as a table I can paste into Slack" or "…as bullets for an email" changes the format usefully.
- Iterate in the same chat. Once the assistant has the context, "now group that by parent ASIN" is instant.
