Intentwise AI Gateway Setup Guide for ChatGPT
Everything you need to connect your ChatGPT to your Amazon data, personalize your experience, and start generating reports using Intentwise AI Gateway.
Connect ChatGPT to your Intentwise data so you can ask questions about Amazon Ads, DSP, Seller Central, Vendor Central, and Search Query Performance in plain English — and get answers grounded in your real numbers.
Setup takes about 5 minutes.
Before you start
You'll need:
- A ChatGPT Plus, Team, or Enterprise subscription. Free accounts can't add connectors.
- Developer Mode enabled in ChatGPT. If you're on Team or Enterprise and Developer Mode isn't visible, your admin needs to turn it on first (see troubleshooting below).
- Your Intentwise login credentials.
Connection details
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| MCP Server URL | https://mcp.intentwise.com/mcp/ |
| Authentication | OAuth |
| Client Registration | User-Defined OAuth Client |
The trailing slash on the MCP Server URL is required. Connections without it will fail.
Setup steps
1. Open ChatGPT Settings Go to chatgpt.com, sign in, click your profile icon in the bottom-left, and select Settings.
2. Enable Developer Mode Go to Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and toggle Developer Mode on.
Team or Enterprise users: if the toggle isn't there, ask your admin to enable it under Admin Settings → Permissions & Roles → Connected Data → Developer mode.
3. Add a new connector Click Add new connector and fill in:
- Name: Intentwise
- Description: Query Amazon Ads, DSP, and retail data via Intentwise
- MCP Server URL:
https://mcp.intentwise.com/mcp/ - Authentication: OAuth
- Client Registration: User-Defined OAuth Client
4. Confirm and create Check "I understand and want to continue" and click Create.
5. Sign in with Intentwise ChatGPT opens an Intentwise sign-in page. Enter your Intentwise credentials and authorize the connection. When you're returned to ChatGPT, the connector shows as Connected.
You're done.
Using the connector in ChatGPT
- Start a new chat.
- Click the + menu and select Developer Mode.
- Choose the Intentwise connector.
- Ask your question.
Try these to verify everything works:
| Goal | Try asking |
|---|---|
| Performance overview | "How did my ads do last month?" |
| Campaign analysis | "What are my top campaigns by revenue this month?" |
| Search term audit | "Which search terms have the worst ACOS?" |
| Period comparison | "Compare my spend this month vs. last month." |
| Product insights | "What are my best-performing products by ad revenue?" |
| Budget check | "Which campaigns keep hitting their budget cap?" |

Troubleshooting
| Issue | Resolution |
|---|---|
| Developer Mode isn't visible | Requires Plus, Team, or Enterprise. On Team/Enterprise, an admin must enable it under Admin Settings → Permissions & Roles → Connected Data. |
| "Connection failed" | Confirm the MCP URL ends with a trailing slash (/mcp/, not /mcp). Re-check that User-Defined OAuth Client is selected. |
| "DCR is unavailable" warning | This is expected. Dynamic Client Registration isn't required — select User-Defined OAuth Client from the Client Registration dropdown and proceed. |
| "No data returned" | Open Intentwise and confirm at least one Amazon Ads, DSP, Seller Central, or Vendor Central source is connected and has finished its first sync. |
| Sign-in window doesn't appear | Allow popups for chatgpt.com in your browser and try Connect again. |
