Share of Voice Explained

With Share of Voice (SOV), you can track organic and advertising search results for a given set of keywords at the frequency of your choosing. Here are some ways you can use the SOV data:

  • Keep track of your organic and advertising ranking

  • Know who you are competing with in both organic listings and advertising results

  • Discover new competitor products to target

Marketplace Availability: .com, .ca, .uk, .au, .mx, .it, .de, .fr

Before using SOV, ensure you've configured Share of Voice using the Settings tab. The Insights tab has various tabs, such as Overview, Trends, Raw data, and download history.

Overview

Filter the data by Categories, Brand Type, Keywords, Page number, and the Top 3 or 10 positions. Competitive Landscape will help you understand the overall stance of the brand on the Organic vs. Advertising positioning in the market compared to the competitors.

Competitive Landscape

It shows the following information based on your tracked keywords:

  • Seller Company

  • Ranked Keywords: Distinct keywords with a valid rank (not null and greater than zero) for the seller company

  • Ranked ASINs: Distinct ASINs with a valid rank (not null and greater than zero) for that seller company

  • Organic SOV: Share of a seller's products visible in organic search compared to all competitors with organic rankings

  • Ad SOV: Share of a seller's products appearing in paid ads compared to all competitors with ad rankings

  • Organic SOV Rank: Ranking based on their share of organic search visibility

  • Ad SOV Rank: Ranking based on their share of paid ad visibility

  • Badges: Amazon’s Choice, Best Seller or None

Top 25 Organic Rankers and Advertisers

Here, you'll find the top 25 Organic Rankers and Advertisers with a clear ranking on where your brand stands on the search results visibility.

Hovering over the bar shows the number of products organically ranking for your brand. For example, 19 products in the category Camera are visible organically. When assessing data at a granular category level, you can also filter specific categories exclusively.

Trends

Charts

Analyzing trends provides a comprehensive view of your brand's performance, as depicted in a chart displaying the highest Organic and Ad ranks attained within a specified time frame.

Trends table

Trends offer in-depth insights at the keyword level, showcasing the performance of brand and non-brand ASINs along with details about the seller company, best organic and ad rank achieved over time, and any associated badges.

Keyword Rollup

The keyword rollup will furnish intricate data regarding the visibility of brand ASINs, including their organic and ad percentage share.

Raw Data

The raw data will encompass comprehensive information for keyword searches, encompassing product ASIN, title, page number, ASIN position on the page, campaign type, display price, rating count, rating, and the price before any discounts are applied.

Quick links streamline the process of filtering specific data, enabling you to swiftly access your brand data, organic or ad-related data, as well as products bearing badges such as My Best Sellers or My Amazon's Choice.

How are Organic SOV and Ad SOV calculated?

Organic SOV is calculated using this formula:

Organic SOV of a Seller (%) = Total number of ASINs of the Seller with Organic ranking and part of branded seller companies / Total number of ASINs with Organic ranking

Ad SOV is calculated using this formula:

Ad SOV of a Seller (%) = Total number of ASINs of the Seller with Ad data and part of branded seller companies / Total number of ASINs with Ad data

Can I get historical data for SOV?

No, we can only pull data for SOV since the day it is enabled.
