Labels let you group Targets, Keywords, Products, Campaigns, or Ad Groups. Once you have created a Label, you can filter it to review performance and make decisions. You can add these manually or add specific criteria to create dynamic labels.

Dynamic labels are a way to categorize and organize your advertising data automatically. Instead of manually assigning labels to each item in your campaigns, keywords, products, or DSP orders, you can set up rules that automatically assign labels based on certain criteria. This saves you time and ensures consistency in your labeling process.

In this article you will learn about

  1. The differences between regular and dynamic labels

  2. How to setup dynamic labels

  3. How to use account labels

Manual and Dynamic Labels Explained

Dynamic Labels

You'll find Labels under Global Settings in the left navigation menu. You can add them manually or set criteria for automatic assignment, known as dynamic labels.

You can set criteria for Dynamic Labels to automatically assign them based on your criteria. These labels classify Campaigns, Keywords, Products, and DSP Orders and are updated daily to reflect changes.

Note: Dynamic labels are assigned daily at 4 AM PST.

Steps to Create and Use Dynamic Labels

  1. Add Dynamic Labels to existing labels: Dynamic Labels are available with Labels under Global Settings > Labels. Click the pencil icon to add criteria. If you don't have any existing labels, add a label first.

  2. Define Criteria: Define the criteria for label assignment based on your specific requirements. For example, you can set rules based on campaign types, keywords, ASINs, or other parameters.

  3. Apply Labels: Once you've defined your criteria, the labels will automatically apply to the corresponding items in your campaigns, keywords, products, or DSP orders.

  4. Update Automatically: Dynamic labels update automatically on a daily basis, reflecting any changes in your data or criteria.

Different Types of Dynamic Labels

There are several types of dynamic labels you can create:

  • Campaign Labels: Based on campaign type, name, or status. [You can choose the 'Cascade' option to apply labels to not only the campaigns but also all the underlying products and targets.]

  • Keyword Labels: Based on keyword content or match type.

  • ASIN Labels: Based on specific ASINs.

  • Product Labels: Based on product attributes.

  • DSP Order Labels: Based on order names.

Note: Even with the cascade enabled, you can now set criteria at the individual entity level. This means that criteria at both the campaign level and the individual level will be considered when assigning the dynamic label.

Frequently Asked Question (FAQs)

Why are some labels in different colors?

The color-coding of labels helps differentiate between types of labels for easier management and clarity:

  • Gray Labels: These represent conventional/manual labels. They are labels that you have created or customized manually to categorize and manage your data based on your specific needs.

  • Green Labels: These indicate dynamic labels. These labels are automatically generated based on predefined criteria, streamlining the process of organizing and managing your data without manual intervention.
